# Search and barcodes

You search for what you mean, not for the product's exact name.

1.  Type a word or a description: "gluten-free pasta" finds spaghetti, fusilli and ditalini from all your shops, even when the name says it another way.
2.  Each result has its price, its price per kilo and the shop where it costs least.
3.  If you are holding the pack, scan its barcode: SingleMall finds the product.

Barcodes are read with the Android app's camera. In a browser it depends on the device: if it does not work, search by name.

### Why do I find products without the word I typed?

The search looks at meaning as well as words: "gluten-free" also finds products that say it another way.
